Abstract
In the article addresses the issue of religion as an institution of socialization in society. Discussed retrospective transformation of the role of the Russian Orthodox Church in of public life at the present stage.Analyzed the proportion of believers and living according to Christian, Orthodox canons in the Russian Federation.
